Birmingham City Welcomes John Murtough as New Football Director

Birmingham City has made a significant move by hiring John Murtough as their new director of football. Murtough, who recently wrapped up a three-year stint at Manchester United, will take on this role after Craig Gardner's departure in June. At 55, Murtough boasts over a decade of experience at Old Trafford, where he played a pivotal role in the club's football operations. Before joining United in 2013, he had spells at Everton, Fulham, and Coventry City, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the table. Most recently, he was involved in Serie A as Atalanta's director of global development, but now he’s ready to tackle the challenges ahead at Birmingham City. He will officially begin his new position on Monday, right after the Championship clash against Cardiff City this weekend. The Blues are in good form, sitting fourth in the Championship after securing three consecutive wins since the international break under the guidance of Chris Davies. Murtough's expertise will surely be crucial as the club aims for success this season.
