Duncan Ferguson's Glentoran Debut Delayed by Weather Woes
Duncan Ferguson was all set to make his managerial debut for Glentoran this Saturday. However, the match against Ballymena United has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Originally scheduled to kick off at the Oval at 15:00 BST, the game was postponed following a pitch inspection earlier in the day. With the conditions deemed unplayable, the Glens will have to wait to see their new boss in action.
Ferguson, who was appointed Glentoran manager just days ago on Monday, will now lead his team for the first time away at Coleraine on Friday, October 30, with kickoff slated for 19:45 GMT, and fans can catch the match live on BBC iPlayer.
Northern Ireland is currently under a yellow weather warning, which is in effect from 10:00 BST on Saturday until 12:00 GMT on Sunday. To add to the concerns, an amber warning for strong winds—with gusts up to 75mph—is also expected on Saturday night.
In addition to Ferguson's postponed debut, Saturday's Women's Challenge Cup final between Glentoran and Cliftonville has also been affected by the severe weather conditions.
