Harry Kane Feels the Pressure of Ballon d’Or Wait
Harry Kane is feeling the heat as he waits to find out if he’s clinched the Ballon d’Or. The Bayern Munich and England forward admits that the suspense is taking a toll on his family, who are eager for the verdict.
The 33-year-old striker is widely considered the frontrunner for this esteemed accolade, thanks to an incredible scoring spree. Last season, he netted 61 goals for Bayern and added 12 for England. This season, he’s already hit 10 for Bayern and six for the national team, including a key penalty in Wednesday's 2-2 Champions League clash against Arsenal.
In the run-up to the ceremony at the London Palladium, Kane recognizes that the anticipation is part of the process. "I think my wife would prefer to know and my family ... it’s very stressful for everyone," he admitted.
Kane understands the reasoning behind keeping the winner a secret until the big reveal. "They want to make sure big names are present, which draws in more viewers," he noted. But for him, the waiting game is nerve-racking.
"Of course I’d love to know just to avoid the tension throughout the night," Kane added. "But it’s out of my hands now. I’ll just have to enjoy the night and try not to stress too much. It’s tough not to think about it, especially with all the rumors swirling around."
