Kiltie’s Brilliance Boosts Kilmarnock with Thrilling Victory Over Motherwell
Kilmarnock has climbed off the foot of the table with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Motherwell at home. Greg Kiltie was the star of the show, scoring twice to help Neil McCann’s side hand the Steelmen their fifth straight defeat, leaving them in the relegation zone, just one point above bottom-placed Hibernian.
Kilmarnock got off to a lightning start with Kiltie finding the net just two minutes in. However, Motherwell bounced back, turning the game around with goals from Alex Lowry and Seb Palmer-Houlden. Just when it looked like the Steelmen were in control, Tyreece John-Jules leveled the score, and Kiltie sealed his brace with a decisive winner in the 69th minute.
In another match, Falkirk pulled off a 2-1 upset against Hibernian, marking their second league win of the season. Jacob Murrell opened the scoring for Falkirk, doubling their lead early in the first half. Hibs managed to pull one back through Owen Elding, but despite dominating the second half, they couldn’t find the equalizer.
Aberdeen also found their winning touch again, defeating St Mirren 3-1 to leapfrog them in the standings. Brad Lyons gave the Dons a spectacular early lead, but St Mirren fought back to equalize through Eseosa Sule. However, a much-improved second half from Aberdeen saw Kevin Nisbet and Ayoub Mouloua secure the three points.
Dundee United managed to salvage a 1-1 draw against St Johnstone thanks to a late equalizer from Lyall Cameron. They fell behind to a goal from Josh Fowler, who is now the league’s top scorer. Although Fowler couldn’t continue into the second half due to illness, Cameron’s impressive form on loan from Rangers ensured his side shared the spoils.
As the weekend matches continue, second-placed Rangers have the chance to leapfrog Celtic into the top spot with a win against Dundee. Meanwhile, Celtic will look to maintain their lead at home against Hearts on Sunday.
