Worry for Kompany: Bayern Coach Hospitalized After Training Incident
Vincent Kompany has been hospitalized after collapsing during a training session with Bayern Munich on Friday. The Belgian manager had been dealing with a virus in recent days and was coaching his team when he began to feel unwell.
The Bundesliga leaders, fresh from a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Champions League, are set to face Freiburg this Sunday. Despite his illness, Kompany was present on the bench for the match against Arsenal.
Bayern Munich released a statement saying, "Vincent Kompany required medical attention after collapsing during a training session for Bayern’s reserve team. The head coach of the professional squad was overseeing the second team’s practice."
Currently, Kompany is undergoing thorough examinations at the hospital and will remain there for medical care. In his absence, his coaching staff will take charge of training and match preparations.
Max Eberl, Bayern’s sporting board member, emphasized, "Vincent Kompany’s health is our top priority. At Bayern, we will do everything we can to ensure he makes a speedy recovery."
Eberl added that Kompany is receiving all necessary medical support and will be allowed as much time as he needs to recuperate. The entire FC Bayern community is rallying behind him, hoping for a swift return to health.
